We Talk To Victoria Carl, Who Turns 25 Today

Leaders, Newsfeed
Victoria Carl had a thunderous entry to the international skiing as a youngster: a few collected so many medals, including 5 golds, at the junior leve (including the Youth Olympics, JWM and U23). The skiing fans held their breath half-fearing , half-hoping for Victoria's dominant entry to the "grown up world"... The triumphant march hasn't just quite happened yet although Victoria's 5th, 6th and 4th finishes at the World Championships in Seefeld left no one in doubt about the powerful Thuringhian's abilities. Today Victoria turns 25, the age of wisdom in the modern sking - and is looking forward to a domestic World Championships next year. We crossed paths with Ms.Carl earlier this month: The main goal for the Oberstdorf 2021 is a medal in relay and/ or team sprint.…

Bolshunov Popped The Question! Where Are Other Stars in THAT Race?

Leaders, Newsfeed, Trivia
He popped the question! Alexander Bolshunov has beaten his chief rival yet again - and that distance shall be the longest ever. And the most pleasant too, hopefully! If might want to go back to our interview of 2018 where they talk about their feelings for each other. https://dailyskier.com/2018/10/25/bolshunov-and-zherebyateva-on-love-support-and-johannes-klaebo/ And what about Johannes? https://www.instagram.com/p/B6ixwBBpg6I/?igshid=vwu17y4n375d Johannes Høsflot Klæbo and Pernille Dosvik made their relationship public in April 2018. Since then, they moved together into a newly built house ( Klaebo wins that race - Bolshunov & Zherebyateva are still working on kitting-out their family nest) and became "parents" to a cat called Stjerne or "Star". A fitting name and another one-up on the Russian rivals, who still pose on photos with their parents' dogs. https://www.instagram.com/p/B-4kE-MAz_-/?igshid=ybcoaxx0eken Wade Poplawski, Jessie Diggins’ Boyfriend is…

Bonés Graphene, Non Plus Ultra Rollerskis

[caption id="attachment_16308" align="alignnone" width="1920"] Jorge Vidal: Put simply, Bonés Skiroll Graphene are "the non plus ultra " rollerskis...[/caption] Today we share with you our recent conversation with Jorge Vidal, Bonés Skiroll founder & director. What makes them truly unique is that , they are both really flexible and reactive. Why? Graphene! It's a nanomaterial that is 100 stronger than steel and is 20% more flexible to the point of breaking than any other product made with fiber carbon. It's the "wonder material" made of " carbon nets" just one atom thick - yet its virtually indestructible in real life: even a 200kg skier won't break them. https://www.instagram.com/p/CC7vynwI_Ms/?igshid=15ui5bq6ij7ji Graphene is, as you would imagine, expensive: about €1000/ kg if you order in industrial quantities. The technology is unique and was developed…

Packaging Can Be Theater…

Gear News, Newsfeed
“Packaging can be theater, it can create a story.” You know who said? Steve Jobs. If you need higher authority on how to do marketing, you're much smarter than us. Apple allegedly maintains a special "unpackaging room" where hundreds of potential package designs are being tried & tested to get the all-important unwrapping experience perfect. The august world of cross country skiing,by contrast, holds true that every product should reach the end customer in packaging that not only is made of recycled material - it also looks recycled. That environmentalist in us applauds the former - but consumer in us has an issue with the latter. Enter Spine Sports. And casts a glance at the packaging issue.
