This got to be the most talked about event in the skiing world this week:
On this video with tens of thousands of views to it, Magdalena Pajala, 29 is seen perfecting her diagonal uphill technique in a bright sunny day near Piteå, Sweden where she lives.
Being 31 week ( or about 7-8 months) pregnant.
The text under the video is equally cheeky: ” Yes, some days I think intervals are my craving” says former Olympian and Swedish A Team skier ( best result – fifth in the 4 x 5 km relay in Vancouver 2010 together with Anna Olsson, Charlotte Kalla and Ida Ingemarsdotter )
Instagram video have gathered over 1100 likes so far with comments overwhelmingly in support of Pajala’s “interval cravings” – including those from fellow skiing mom Chandra Crawford and Jennie Öberg from Swedish A Team.
To nay-sayers and doubters ( of which are very few, it seems) Pajala says this: “Still feeling stable and safe in my movements, especially the diagonal. Yesterday’s intervals I felt stronger than in several weeks and felt so focused and energized. Also noticed that the third trimester is a new phase in pregnancy and exercise is becoming more flexible as I do what feels best for the day – an interval pass, a walk in the woods or rest. The body and my energy levels can decide!”
It’s not the first time Ms. Pajala is regaling her fans with “best classic technique while pregnant” video course: her previous hit with nearly 70000 views was called “ perfecting double poling while being Week 23 in pregnancy” – or something along those lines.
