The agency aims to connect businesses to newly retired and/ or those thinking about retirement athletes. The thinking seems to be that the former would appreciate the latter's sense of duty and ability to overcome when going gets tough. Laudable idea.

Young Norwegian Star Not Allowed To Take Part In Toppidrettsveka

World's reigning U23 champion and the biggest Norwegian hope in distance skiing won't be taking part in Toppidrettsveka that kicks off today. Marte Mæhlum Johansen is fine herself - but someone at her university was diagnosed with Covid-19. And the Norwegian Ski Federation is taking absolutely drastic measures to prevent even a theoretical chance of its atheletes catching the virus. Even the foreign athletes who reside in Norway (cue Musgrave, Young & Clugnet) are not allowed to train and compete with the Norway's best this summer. Toppidrettsveka won't see the leaders, Johaug, Falla and Heidi Weng who are skipping one of the biggest summer get-togethers through overtraining. But Johannes Klaebo will be there, fronting of what essentially is his homeground competition.

They are there - except that are made very differently. Traditional carbon fiber is woven, laid up, and then “glued” together with resin that needs to be cured - a time/effort consuming process that requires considerable skill. The result is amazing, however: anything & everything where the cost is no object is being produced that way, from uber-fancy icepicks to intercontinental ballistic missiles. With injected carbon the process is far simpler and consist of the short, “chopped” carbon fiber strands being mixed with other thermoplastics at certain temperatures. In Interesting Twist, Company Actually Offers Northug Cooperation

In the last few days we've heard a lot of either rather high-handed, righteous criticism or generic offers of support for embattled Petter Northug. Now there is a company that came out with what effectivly amount to public offer of cooperation: " Driving under the influence of drugs is ...dangerous and altogether wrong thing to do ....Northug must repent and be punished in accordance with the law" reads a press-release (Instagram post, actually- but whoever is using any other means of communication these days? ) "....But leaving the great Norwegian without support at such a moment, turning away from him or even sitting on the fence in anticipation, as some of his partners are doing now, is wrong.
