Johannes Klaebo Shows Rollerskis He Uses In Training – And He Co-Developped Them

First of, we have to admit that we love when skiers present products bearing their names. Virtually any products. One can't hide in the winter forest ignoring the current trends - and those are that great athletes cooperate with equipment manufactures or , indeed, launch their own brands. From Olivier Bernhard/On Running to Michael Jordan/Air Jordan by Nike ( just to name but a few big names) - that's how the world rolls these days. So, when a skier gives her/his name to a product - it's already a win for great sport of skiing ( cue Daehlie, Ulvang and Johaug). But if he actually participated in designing one, utilizing all that experience of long hours spent training and competing - that's true gold. As in "Klaebo Gold Edition" Full…

XC Skiing Massively Lucked Out With Klaebo Brothers

XC Skiing Massively Lucked Out With Klaebo Brothers

Leaders, Newsfeed
Yes, it did. In today's world, to be a champion in whatever sport is desperately not enough. Having a shy, reserved, introvert champion is detrimental to that sport's effort to stay in the media limelight and to attract investments/sponsorships. The august sport of cross country skiing has been lucky - its biggest star is also a true international fashion icon on the rise. But the king is made by his entourage. It looks like Ola Klaebo sacrificied his potential illustrious skiing career (his older brother's assessment) in order to help build Brand Klaebo. Talented families are often talented in many ways - Klaebo YouTube channel run by Ola is a great example of how so much could be achieved with so little investment ( but a lot of effort). Johannes…

Quick Fireside Chat With Johannes Klaebo & His Thoughts As To Where Skiing Should Be Going

...it wasn't a fireside chat, of course - it's a figure of speech. All important conversations in our busy times happen on the way somewhere from one point to the next. That one was no exception. Every moment in life of a 22 year old world's best skier and veritable fashion icon is planned & accounted for. Yesterday he was presenting his very own line of hair products . Today he won Kirkebakken GP - both sprint and mixed relay with Maiken Falla, then barely an hour later he was hitting the road for his next scheduled appearance in Oslo. But we had a brief candid chat, the most important excerpts from which we share with you with Johannes' permission: - The future of skiing lays in sprints. Particularly in…

Meet Man Behind Success Of Summer Skiing Fests In Norway

Meet Man Behind Success Of Summer Skiing Fests In Norway

Man behind the scenes. Meet Morten Iversbakken, co-founder, manager & driving force behind the rapid rise of @idtsports. Star-studded rollerski races Norway is known for ( and the appeal is growing with each year) won't be possible without dedicated sponsorship(s) by the company both willing and able to provide world-class equipment to world-class stars of skiing. Hand delivered (literally as you can see on this photo) to each & every destination e.g. Hamar's Kirkebakken Grand Prix yesterday, Oslo Skifest today. Is he alone? By no means. There are other dedicated men, women and their outfits in rollerskiing, yet we think this case special: IDT is a large company and was doing well before it went into skiing. Morten is a well-off young man with a growing family. He could have…

Klaebo Has Not Signed Agreement With National Team – And Deadline Is Looming

Klaebo Has Not Signed Agreement With National Team – And Deadline Is Looming

Leaders, Newsfeed
World's best male skier (do we need to say the name?) still has not signed a contract with the Norwegian national team - and June 10th deadline is looming. Bone of contention: social media and, more specifically, advertising & promoting on social media. The sides (Johannes does not get involved - he is represented by his father and manager, Haakon Klæbo, as always) don't want to comment beyond that. It's clear, however, that whatever boundary between "Klaebo being himself" and "Klaebo being part of the national team " they eventually find, it will serve as yardstick to all future contracts for all Norwegian skiers - and possibly beyond. Case in point: on this photo from the World Cup in Davos Johannes is seen wearing a jacket with all the team…
