Alfa Boots: Don’t Fix What Ain’t Broken

Alfa Boots: Don’t Fix What Ain’t Broken

Gear News, Newsfeed
Some things are forever. Like Alfa ski boots. The Norwegian company had long stopped sponsoring World Cup-class athletes - and basically haven't changed the look of its boots since what? 2005? They still sport the same color and NNN sole that was ultra-hip back in 2010. Boot upper, however, is very different/updated. Alfa is the only ski bookmaker using expensive Gore-tex insulation, for instance. Design? Timeless! Alfa still moves several thousand pairs each year, so it must be. Characteristically, Alfa is the only ski bootmaker that was exhibiting at ISPO very much apart & away from the rest of " xcski crowd" - with other Scandinavian fashion labels, known for functionality, traditions - and steep price tag. Alfas retail in Norway for just under 400 euros in equivalent.

[caption id="attachment_14512" align="alignnone" width="1920"] Per Wiik, marketing manager at Madshus, presents Norwegian company's latest racing skis, Redline 3.0 [/caption] [caption id="attachment_14513" align="alignnone" width="1920"] Redline 3.0 Skate will come in two flavors: stiffer F2 ( left on this photo) for hard-packed snow and F3 ( right) that is for everything else. The latter one has much shorter "race groove"[/caption] [caption id="attachment_14514" align="alignnone" width="1920"] Wiik describes 3.0s as "being more dynamic" compared to predecessor. That is achieved through increasing the amount of carbon-fiber sheets throughout the length of the ski. Also note new design/colors that are quite reminiscent of Madshus of old [/caption] [caption id="attachment_14510" align="alignnone" width="1920"] Classic Redline 3.0 will come in Cold and Warm iterations [/caption] [caption id="attachment_14515" align="alignnone" width="1920"] And - last but not the least - Madshus is…

..this year we want do a coverage of novelties & other things for mentioning at ISPO , concentrating in depth on specific products. In case the word ISPO does not sound familiar: it's humongously sized winter sports & outdoor expo happening in Munich every year. Cross country skiing equipment manufacturers are all there with their wares & services - with a notable exception of Salomon and Atomic that customarily ignore it. We start with long-anticipated premiere of new top-of-the-line Rossignol boots. Why with them? Well, for one thing Alex Bolshunov keeps on winning in them recently (camouflaged to look as previous model) - it should say something. If you need a second reason here is one : Rossignol always tried to keep their prices on top-level boots lower than most in…

New Spine Classic Boots – Editorial Glance

New Spine Classic Boots – Editorial Glance

Gear News, Newsfeed
Yesterday we've published a press-release by Spine Sports regarding their new boots. First of all, the Dailyskier.com is a commercial media resource. We spend to produce editorial content and we want to offset our costs. Publishing companies' press-releases - self-written, as-is but clearly marked as such - is a standard form of any media to earn some money, we hope it is clear for everyone reading this now. ...Which does not mean we're not curious and don't want to learn more than what Spine was willing to put into their statement. We also have a broader assertion to make on the subject - but first what we managed to glean about new boots: Since time immemorial( I.e. since 2014 when they first hit the market) carbon sole boots were made…

PRESS-RELEASE by Spine Sports Yaroslavl, Russian Federation January 23, 2020. Spine Sports is proud to present a unique product at the ISPO-2020 exhibition that is opening in Munich next week: The Ultimate Classic Integral features an entirely new approach to the design & production of top racing boots for cross country skiing. Instead of the hitherto common " sandwich" arrangement where several elements are glued or screwed together to form a boot sole, the Ultimate Classic Integral features a breakthrough construction where a metal bar, a key element of all NNN-compatible boots, is integrated into the actual platform. The new platform is produced utilizing a brand-new technology of heat multi-component molding developed in-house by Spine Sports. Says Dmitry Vargin, Spine Sports founder & CEO: " The creation of the new…
