The world’s best young skiers won’t see the jewel of Polish winter sports – Zakopane.
“…The FIS was informed by the Polish Ski Federation that the Cross-Country competitions of the Junior and U23 World Ski Championships 2022 cannot be held in Zakopane due to a planned construction in direct surrounding of the planned venue of the Cross-Country track…”
Oops.
Zakopane was meant to host JWSC-2021 but canceled due to COVID uncertainties – Finnish Vuokatti ( and Lahti for ski jumpers and combiners) stepped in and held a very successful event last February.
Who will rescue the Junior Worlds this time around?
“…The FIS, together with National Ski Associations are intensively working on finding a solution to host the Junior and U23 WSC Cross-Country competitions and is hoping to confirm an organizer soon…”
