Johaug Nominated For National Award

Johaug Nominated For National Award

Newsfeed
Therese Johaug was just nominated for Egebergs Ærespris which is a prize awarded to Norwegian athletes who excel in more than one sport, according to TV2 Norway's ski expert Petter Skinstad. No need to remind you how many medals she won in cross country skiing. But last year she also won the Norwegian national championship in track & field. In 10000m. Running in street shoes rather than spikes. Now let the internet holywar begin regarding eligibility and/ or morality of the message here. Would be accurate to say that in Norway hardly anybody considers Johaug a conscious doper in her past - and the rest of the world can keep its opinions to itself. Well, according to the man who makes them $700/ poles, they are not all bark but quite a bit of bite too. Because USSPC' Honey Badgers are different. Says Andy Liebner, the company's founder and CEO: " The price validates that this model pole is beyond monetary resistance and exceeds all price tags in the nordic ski poles in the world. The difference is felt when using them. The HB’s are wider throughout, designed…

Adidas Signs Frida Karlsson. Why Is That Reason To Celebrate

Adidas Signs Frida Karlsson. Why Is That Reason To Celebrate

Leaders, Money & Finance, Newsfeed
Frida Karlsson just became a brand ambassador for Adidas - and that's a big deal. A few years ago sportswear & equipment giant from Herzogenaurach made a fateful decision to exit winter sports ( domestic German teams are excluded, temporarily so from what we understand). Fateful for the winter sports - when one of the world biggest companies, the one constantly looking for expansion, decides there is no market in xcskiing (or biathlon for that matter) - that's a clear sign that things are not quite right , that the market niche is shrinking so fast that it's not worth the effort. One could huff and puff over how unfair the world is, but when the majors who had used to care ( remember Adidas ski? Nike ski boots??) slowly…
