Meet New Boss Same As Old Boss. 4KAAD Rollerskis Look Exactly Like OneWay Rollerskis Of Past

Andreas Bennert keeps on painstakingly rebuilding his former empire under a new name.

He is the man who launched and made omnipresent the One Way brand. Last year, however, outstretched One Way had to file for bankruptcy , with assets eventually bought by Fischer Nordic that continues to produce famed SLG 10 poles among the others.

Andreas, however, launched a new business – 4KAAD, you could read our conversation with him here and here

Now 4KAAD goes back to the market with rollerskis that look…exactly like old OW rollerskis.

Which is not a bad thing for those who are used to the Finnish brand’s combo of sturdiness and relatively low prices.

Apart from re-labeled old OW rollerskis, the company intends to launch all-new composite frame models later in the year.

Andreas is optimistic – 4KAAD expects to sell at least 2000 pairs this year alone.

Here are excerpts from our conversation with Mr. Bennert

– Three models are initially offered. CLASSIC 7 , SKATE 7 , both with a 7075 alloy frame, med-slow durable carbon-rubber wheels. SKATE 10, same frame material but with lower position at the wheels to have better contact to the asphalt in uphill skating.

– All three models are produced at the same factory in China where ONE WAY rollerski used to be made
That means all the components, frames, wheels, rims are exactly the same as it was in ONE WAY. Ceramic ABEC7 bearings are used in wheels. Same recommended weight limits as before – Skate 10, for instance, is for a skier up to 90kg.
