Beard, The Best A Man Can Get

Newsfeed, Trivia
Since everybody & his dog are discussing Gillette's (successful ) attempt at stirring the pot , we have decided to jump on that bandwagon too. We have no idea whether a beard these days is supposed to be a nod towards "toxic masculinity" or any such. We merely present you beard fashions on the top of international skiing. Whether they are in dire need of Gillette or otherwise - you decide. Money & Finance, Newsfeed
Ingvild Oestberg has proven yet another time that she is one of the best this year and Johannes Klaebo has shown to all the fans & skeptics alike that he is much more than a sprint prodigy. Sergei "the Russian Bear" Ustiugov is back & roaring - literally and in fights for the podium while Therese Johaug and Charlotte Kalla were sorely missed. Oh, and the Alpe Cermis climb is still a fantastic race - arguably, the most TV & fans friendly of them all in the FIS calendar! Yet another resounding success for all involved? Not so fast. Let's start with small gripes e.g. what the point of having skiers to negotiate first 6 kilometers of the 9 km Alpe Cermis race that are actually downhill - before the…

Best Portraits Of 2018. Part 2

Newsfeed, Trivia
..While putting together a previous story on the subject it quickly became clear that there are too many good pictures worth publishing from the outgoing year. Almost all were taken before, after or outside training & competing ( there are a few exceptions). We do see it as our role as online media to show skiers as humans, as personalities, rather than medal-winning machines. Enjoy - and tell us what you think. …Face Is Mirror Of Mind…

Newsfeed, Trivia
"The face is the mirror of the mind, and eyes without speaking confess the secrets of the heart" - thus allegedly spoke Saint Jerome ( who, unlike many other Christian saints, wasn't butchered by some savages but lived long and, by all accounts, rather happy life) Armed with that time-tested wisdom, we offer you today a collection of photos taken throughout the year of 2018 at different venues with one thing in common: faces of athletes Concentration, anticipation, hope, elation, disappointment, happiness - or simple "leave me all alone" - it's all there. We made no distinction between famed Olympic champions and ( yet) relatively unknown skiers - facial expression was something that mattered. Certain photos need explaining of circumstances under which they were taken - other are self-explaining. Sometimes…

Northug Is King – Of Instagram + Other News About Most Important Social Media Net

Newsfeed, Trivia
It would be silly to equate a popularity of sportsman or woman with amount of Instagram followers he/she has. Silly – but we will nonetheless. Because how else is to gauge the said popularity across the board? Generation Z is in love with Snapchat and VSCO while Gen X seem to prefer FB and/or Twitter. Where do they all meet? On Instagram with its one billion+ subscribers. And as to why is it important – here's just one piece of data that should remove any need for further explanations: 44% of young folks of Gen Z indicated that Instagram influences their shopping decisions. With Millennials it falls to 21% but nobody would dispute it's still huge. We have looked at the Instagram accounts of world's top skiers – and those…
