Gear News, Newsfeed
If you ever wanted to have classic Adidas Langlaufschuhe - here is your chance: Somebody is selling brand new , in original wrapper, (!!!) skiboots on the German EBay. Moreover, they are of limited Peter Angerer Edition in white leather. The West German Olympic champion in biathlon was the company's top " brand ambassador " - except that nobody used that term back then. The "long tongue" bindings system was all the rage in late 1970s - mid 1980s before being replaced by Adidas SDS. https://www.ebay-kleinanzeigen.de/s-anzeige/adidas-langlaufschuhe-orginalverpackt/1360557163-158-7998

Valentina Vuerich: Remember To Always Dare

Leaders, Newsfeed
Memento Audere Semper - "Remember to always dare". The quote from Gabriele d'Annunzio' poetry graces one of Valentina " Vale" Vuerich's arms. Very fittingly. Vale is a remarkable figure in the international skiing for several reasons each of which warrants a story about her: - she is one of a very, very few ski servicewomen on the international scene - and, likely, currently the most successful of them all as her personal athlete, Anamarija Lampic just had a fantastic season. We all know that the xcskier's success is always build on quality of her/ his skis. - a former athlete herself, Valentina is a lot more than a ski technician. She is a training partner and, judging by amounts of smiles & giggles, one of the close friends to her…

...It was an exciting experiment... ...Aleksander Wierietielny had a long and illustrious career capped with his best known pupil, Justyna Kowalczyk, winning two Olympic golds, three FIS Cross-Country World Cups and incredible four Tour de Ski victories in a row. [caption id="attachment_15635" align="alignnone" width="1920"] Wierietielny and Maniek, the First Dog of XCsking, always there on the tracks [/caption] The Soviet Union-born coach wanted to retire after the 2018 Olympics but none else than Ms. Kowalczyk had convinced him to stay for a few years to work on the project both fascinating and incredible: select a group of 16-17 year old Polish girls - and turn them into world-class skiers. It would be wrong to add the standard "money no object" but it was a very well funded project, money of…

Introducing My Sponsor: Nadine Faehndrich And Pilatus Aircraft Ltd.

Money & Finance, Newsfeed
The Dailyskier note: Nadine Fähndrich has, perhaps, the most exciting and exotic personal sponsor in the whole of the international cross-country skiing: not only is it a huge, billion dollar company - it's the aircraft maker who's name is rather synonymous with high flying, both literally and figuratively speaking. Nadine Fähndrich, in her own words: I am very proud to represent Pilatus Aircraft Ltd. on my headgear. Since 2016 they are my main sponsor. With the support of Pilatus, I can concentrate on the sport. This is an important point to be able to focus and make progress. In short, they make me fly high! Holmenkollen Organizers Still Owe Prize Money To Karlsson, Bolshunov & Co

Newsfeed
The organizers of Holmenkollen Ski Festival are yet to send the latest winners of the storied race the checks they are entitled to. Last month Holmenkollen 30/50k produced some of the most exciting races of the last season with Frida Karlsson and Alexander Bolshunov beating the host nation stars in front of the traditional massive crowds. There was just one problem with that " crowds" definition: those were non-paying citizens exercising their free-access rights alongside the tracks in the forest. The terraces of the large Holmenkollen stadium remained empty on early coronavirus fears - likely rightly so from what we now know about how the disease spread. For the organizers, however, it was a nightmare: having to bear all the costs associated with holding a FIS World Cup event with…
