Why Blink Skifestival Provides Glimpse Into Future Of Skiing. And Reasons Why It Might Not Happen

A short intro for those yet uninitiated: there are international skiing competitions i.e. World Championships ( hello, Seefeld'2019!) and World Cup stages. Those are held - you guessed it - in the winter, when the Northern hemisphere gets some snow ( more of which later). [caption id="attachment_8222" align="aligncenter" width="1600"] Same ski stars, same poles & boots - the only difference are rolellerski. IDT Solutions models are developed with Ingvild Oestberg who is actually seen in this photo - and are identical for all the participants [/caption] You might adore Klaebo, Nillson, Ustiugov, Diggins or Pellegrino - but you naturally start forgetting about…

Why Galtür Nordic Night Race Should Be Event You Spend Your Easter Vacs At Next Year

At the Daily Skier we happened to believe that the best way of promoting skiing – is getting more people to watch it. In that spirit the visit to the inaugural Galtür Nordic Night Race was organized. And here are the impressions https://www.instagram.com/p/BhMCRxyh47u/ [caption id="attachment_7406" align="aligncenter" width="1600"] Skiing through town? Doable![/caption]   If you do it – do it right. Paznaun valley where Galtür is located, is one fancy place, seeing steady influx of well-heeled downhill skiers throughout the winter season. ( " We don't need to advertize or share profits with online booking systems – we are more than 85% full most of the time" opens up a proprietor of one of the Galtür hotels). How is it relevant to cross country skiing? Well, directly – to bring/lay the…

Night City Sprint In April? Yes Says Town In Tyrol

Newsfeed, Travel & Mass Sport

Well, here's a brand-new xc skiing event that has every chance of becoming popular in itself - and paving the way for more. Paznaun - Ischgl area in Austrian Tyrol is very well known - for its downhill skiing. But as "narrow skiing" destination - not so much. Nearby Engadin valley has mass distance race, ditto for Livigno while Davos has historic, famed World Cup stage - and Seefeld has both mass and WC races. Enough is enough - probably thought good citizens of Paznaun valley -…
