Let’s Look At Who Is Running In Ladies’ Skiathlon At Olympics

On Saturday the Olympic program in cross country skiing gets underway with the ladies' 7,7/7,5 skiathlon Today we make an effort to show you some of those who will be running in that race. Let's be fair & honest: there's a rather small chance that any of them will make it to the podium or even the flower ceremony after the finish in the skiathlon race. Television cameras are unlikely to stay on them for more than a few second during the broadcast. Which is rather pity & unfair - all of them are world-class skiers. Strong, dedicated and technically accomplished. We try to fill that gap by showing you how they look on or close to the ski tracks. Enjoy! We do need rock-stars of cross country skiing - without them adoring crowds shall move elsewhere, in search for other objects to follow and to love. Luckily, this season we have not just one - but two who have emerged. Just ask these fans who passionately waited for Johannes Klaebo and Lucas Chanavat to finish shaking hands with officials and doing media interviews in order to have "a minute of selfie & autograph" with their heroes.

This season started quite unexpectedly for the sport where a lot of athletes peak at around/after the tender age of 30 and it is not unknown to win a major race being close to 40 years of age. Gällivare Premiere Is First Meet Of Season For Top Skiers. We Effort To Understand Why Is It So Popular

The wait is almost over – just one month & a change before the start of the competition season. The World Cup this year kicks of in Ruka, Finland on November 24th But before the WC first stage, some of the world's strongest skiers will meet, as it is their custom, on the tracks of the Swedish Gällivare – first for training and then to compete at the famed Gällivare Premiere. Nothing beats the first face-to-face race, World Cup or not.
