Spine That Does Things Differently (But Finally Launches Its Website)

Leaders, Newsfeed
Spine Sports is perhaps the oddest company there is in the whole of the xcski industry. Yet their market strategy seems to be working as more and more athletes and serious amateurs are being seen in Spine's marquee lapis-lazuli boots. [caption id="attachment_16860" align="alignnone" width="616"] Company is often defined by its boss - and Spine Sports offers proof of that postulate: Dmitry Vargin, Spine's co-founder and CEO, is mercurial and ambitious. As a man who built a multimillion dollar company from total scratch would be expected to be [/caption] Here's what makes them so different: - They are the world biggest cross-country boots producer by volume, churn out hundreds of thousands of them every year and operate large and well equipped factory in outskirts of the city of Yaroslavl in Russia…

In Interesting Twist, Company Actually Offers Northug Cooperation

In Interesting Twist, Company Actually Offers Northug Cooperation

Newsfeed
In the last few days we've heard a lot of either rather high-handed, righteous criticism or generic offers of support for embattled Petter Northug. Now there is a company that came out with what effectivly amount to public offer of cooperation: " Driving under the influence of drugs is ...dangerous and altogether wrong thing to do ....Northug must repent and be punished in accordance with the law" reads a press-release (Instagram post, actually- but whoever is using any other means of communication these days? ) "....But leaving the great Norwegian without support at such a moment, turning away from him or even sitting on the fence in anticipation, as some of his partners are doing now, is wrong. The damage will be done not only to the champion himself, but…

Top Rollerskier Launches His Line Of Dietary Supplements

Newsfeed, Training & Outfitting
At least two thirds of elite athletes use dietary supplements, according to one oft-quoted study. And if athelets use these products, sometimes referred to as “ergogenic aids”, themselves it would be outright weird if they didn't partake in the promotion. Not on the market worth a whopping USD 120+ billion globally. Cristiano Ronaldo promotes Herbalife and Tom Brady the whole wellness / nutrition system called in case you forgot, TB12™. And only in the xcskiing hitherto nobody was pushing her or his line of products. Well, the skiing doesn't lag behind on that trend no longer: https://www.instagram.com/p/B-9k8B-otQb/?igshid=1566ma6atmexw Dmitry Voronin might not be a household name for every ski fan on the planet , but it's a very respected name in rollerski sprint circles and those of nascent superspint. The Russian…

Fischer just unveiled the pair the Austrian company calls " world's lightest classic rollerskis" https://youtu.be/w-MmYzf0X6g Which means they are at least a little bit lighter than the Swix model that hit the market last year, somewhat ahead of the pack. https://www.instagram.com/p/CAnr8yzHhtO/?igshid=1bkrho69l59t8 "The pack" because never before was the market so saturated with the true carbon fiber monocoque rollerskis offers: Established players roll out their first CF models https://www.instagram.com/p/CBYpPAEJkDV/?igshid=fe2e361269n4 New players are entering the market - obviously, sensing some business opportunities. https://www.instagram.com/p/CA7_Gn9J6YV/?igshid=1fwcr5ehpedwc The end of metal alloy rollerskis is nay? Not so fast, says Morten Iversbakken, the marketing manager of IDT Sports. Everyone remembers, of course, that the Norwegian company sponsors by far the most top teams/ individual skiers in the world of xcskiing (but not biathlon - that's still largely the…

Swenor Upping Ante

Gear News, Newsfeed
Pictures of the new flagship Swenor rollerskis have started to appear on webpages of the Norwegian company's dealers. And guess what?! They are carbon-fiber monocoque! Just to remind you,the French word means a construction where the outer skin carries all the stresses. Carbon monocoque rollerskis are not altogether new - some 10 years ago boutique shops - Italian Globulonero and Spanish Quionne - were the first on the market with them. The monocoque construction immediately found its fans but failed to capture a significant slice of the pro-market. We reckon, because of the lack of sufficient promo-budgets (although Globulonero was sponsoring the Italian national team for several seasons). Well, now the big guys have decided to join in that full-carbonskis party. Last year Swix presented their vision - called Triac,…
