Let’s Look At Who Is Running In Ladies’ Skiathlon At Olympics

On Saturday the Olympic program in cross country skiing gets underway with the ladies' 7,7/7,5 skiathlon Today we make an effort to show you some of those who will be running in that race. Let's be fair & honest: there's a rather small chance that any of them will make it to the podium or even the flower ceremony after the finish in the skiathlon race. Television cameras are unlikely to stay on them for more than a few second during the broadcast. Which is rather pity & unfair - all of them are world-class skiers. Strong, dedicated and technically accomplished. We try to fill that gap by showing you how they look on or close to the ski tracks. Enjoy! Sergey Ustiugov might miss the Olympic Games in Pyeonchang. That follows from leaked contents of the International Olympic Committee letter to the Russian Olympic Committee The document allegedly contains provisional list of Russian athletes that the IOC will invite to participate in the Games. Ustiugov, a double winner of the World Championships in Lahti in 2017 is absent from the list – along with the two other leading Russian athletes – Anton Shipulin, biathlon and Viktor Ahn , short-track speedskating. Neither of the three were ever mentioned in either the McLaren Report or Rodchenkov testimony as suspects. Neither of the three were ever…

Markus Cramer made his name by coaching then little known Dario Cologna to overall World Cup victory in 2008/2009 and , later, to the golden medal of the Olympics in Vancouver in 2010. Before that he brought a virtually unknown Swiss female squad to bronze medals in the 4 × 5 km relay at the Salt Lake City Olympics in 2012 [caption id="attachment_6512" align="aligncenter" width="1600"] Cramer with old friends & colleagues from the German ski team[/caption] But now, just a few weeks ahead of the Pyeonchang Olympics, a 54 year old German specialist finds himself in a limbo. Several skiers that Cramer coached in the recent years – namely Alexander Legkov and Evgeny Belov are stripped of their Sochi medals and banned from the Games ( the Court of Arbitration for…

“I Wil Be Back” Writes Johaug, Gets Golden Commemorative Coin “To Give Her Further Motivation”

Therese Johaug is out of the PyeongChang Olympics – but not out of newspaper headlines with media sharply divided over a 29 year old Norwegian's role in modern cross country skiing. The latest episode was sparked by the visit of Ms. Johaug to Samlehuset, a local company ( but a branch of international powerhouse in its field). Samlerhuset Norge is a distributor of various collectibles best known for its succesful promotion & direct marketing of official Olympic coins. While there, an Olympic champion of Vancouver, who is missing the upcoming Games through doping suspension, was asked to write a greeting – which she promptly did on a booklet advertizing 2000 Korean Won, an Olympic edition special. " I will be back" reads the skier's message (in English), accompanied by a…
