Bjørgen has good performance yet loses to Northug

Newsfeed, Trivia
Marit Bjørgen adds a good performance to her credit - still no match for Petter Northug. As expected. We are talking Landskampen performance, of course. Sorry you're been living under a particulaly solid rock if you haven't heard of the most important ski-related TV program on the planet, the one that pitches Norwegian stars against those from Sweden in decidedly non-Olympic competitions filmed by multiple action cameras. It costs a bomb to produce and it always runs in prime time. The first episode of the latest series premiered on TV2 Norway last Friday for the audience share of 30.4 percent ( meaning every third Norwegian who still didn't cut the cord was watching it live). A total of 276,000 or roughly 8% of a total adult population of the country…

Two kings of cross country skiing, leaving lasting effect on fans' memories. The hyper-meticulous in his preparations Swede vs...well, you all read his book so you already know how the Norwegian was at times preparing for his. If only we could see them compete against each other! Well, guess what? We could. Soon! Landskampen is back. That's what Therese Johaug got for her participation in the Landskampen television program as per Petter Northug who also took part (but, allegedly, got nothing for his effort as he's already on contract). The Swedish Expressen published an interview with the Norwegian superstar ahead of the program's debut in Sweden. Landskampen has already run on TV2 in Norway last year with great primetime ratings and was renewed for next season. Now the show's 8 installments will be aired on TV4 in Sweden. In the same interview Northug says that other participants got roughly 20000 euros for making an appearance and that the show's production schedule was significantly tightened because of Johaug's commitments elsewhere. Landskampen's executive producer Anders Sæther, however, rejects Northug's assertions: "Figures…

Competition Season is NOT Over For Johaug, Kalla, Iversen etc

How do you reckon the Norwegians turn their stars of skiing into " Stars. Period"? Easy - by having them on television screens as much as possible. And when there is no snow - well, there's always something else. Where there's a will, there's a way! Therese Johaug, Emil Iversen and - hold it - Petter Northug himself are currently on Rhodes competing against Charlotte Kalla and Calle Halfvarsson. Yep, on the Greek island of Rhodes. [caption id="attachment_10890" align="alignnone" width="1920"] Therese is first on a climb. No surprises there [/caption] Because that's where Norway's top broadcaster TV2 is currently filming an adventure show. Details are, predictably, kept under wraps but the show, named Landskampen, appears to be a cross between the Wipeout and the Fort Boyard. With a distinct difference…
