Hailey Swirbul, US Ski Team, tells about her personal sponsor:
My connection with the small mountain town of Mesa, Colorado-home to Odin Recreation-leads us to the very beginning of my cross-country skiing career. It was on the nearby Nordic trails where I skate-skied for the very first time and in the main lodge where my team and I lived for a training camp every November for the next 7 years. It has been an honor to partner with Odin as my headgear sponsor and carry that piece of my identity with me around the world this winter.
Odin Recreation is a local ski/ outdoor gear shop with a lot of enthusiasm for getting people of all ages outside. They offer gear rentals for skis, snowshoes, sleds, etc., ski lessons, and offer kid’s ski programs and full moon ski events every month. The Odin Gear Depot shop allows and encourages community members from the nearby city of Grand Junction (where I was born!) to access the abundant wilderness and be active, and that is a movement I passionately support!
Odin’s support has been instrumental for me, allowing me to focus more fully on my training and skiing with less financial burden. And I am one of the lucky ones in the USA who has found an incredible organization like Odin to offset the costs of training camps and domestic and international travel for skiing. I’m thankful for the team at Odin Recreation for believing in me unconditionally!
